How is your program different from other legal services programs?
We are different in two ways: First, we provide legal benefits immediately. Many programs are reimbursement plans and only provide benefits as a reimbursement after you have already incurred attorney’s fees.
Second, we hire top lawyers in the jurisdiction where the offense occurs. This is extremely important. Many plans are a front for criminal defense firms. We do not represent you in the criminal or civil matter. We find the best lawyers in your jurisdiction who will.
How can I pay?
We accept checks, debit cards, and all major credit cards. You can pay online, by mail or by phone.
Who will represent me?
We hire the most qualified defense attorney we can find in the jurisdiction for you alleged offense.
What if I have been in a “use of force” situation? What should I do next?
As soon as you are safe, call 911, ask for police assistance and an ambulance (if needed). DO NOT EXPLAIN – your call is being recorded by the dispatcher. Call our 24/7 hotline and we will find your experienced criminal defense attorney to meet you. When the officers arrive, be compliant and courteous. Do not make a statement until you have spoken with your attorney. You are most likely being recorded.
What is covered by your prepaid plan?
We cover all attorney fees for civil and criminal charges. We do not cover legal expenses such as investigator fees, depositions etc.
When does legal coverage end?
Legal coverage ends with dismissal of charges or disposition of your case in a trial court. We do not cover appeals.
Where am I covered?
You will be covered anywhere in the United States you are in lawful possession of a firearm.
Why do I need coverage from Patriot Legal Protection if I have a homeowner’s policy?
Most standard policies exclude coverage for injuries or damages resulting from intentional acts. Self-defense is an intentional act. Unlike an insurance policy claim where you would seek reimbursement from your carrier, we pay your attorney upfront so you don’t have to worry about costs.
